3 Day Intermediate Whitewater Kayak Course
Intermediate
Instruction style: Whitewater can be for everyone – whatever your limits and objectives are. Our goal is to give you the knowledge and confidence to fall in love with whitewater kayaking.
For this course we will focus on how the basics will help us improve our overall kayaking. Endless Adventure is the perfect setting for us to dive deep into each skill – cross current momentum, rolling and ‘boof’ing, to name a few. The Slocan Valley hosts a wonderful selection of rivers perfect for kayak improvement. Starting out on the Slocan river to assess paddler skills and make hard moves on low consequence whitewater is the first focus of the course. After observing the paddlers on day one, custom instruction is catered to each participant with the goal of total improvement and the introduction of tools to keep progressing well after the course is over. Day three of the course will challenge paddlers and make space for one on one coaching and group discovery.
Local eateries offer a wide selection of healthy and organic options to meet any dietary needs. Nearby camping is available as well as B & B options. Hotel accommodation can be recommended in Castlegar or surrounding area. Be sure to bring your personal protection equipment and a river running or creek kayak. Water temperature is considered chilly this time of year so a drysuit or wetsuit is recommended. For more course info please reach out to us!
