Is this course for you? 
This course is for paddlers looking for training and preparedness to perform in water rescues or work in a medium to high risk environment.Participants will be working from simple to complex systems and focusing on third party rescues. This course involves swimming in Class 2-3 whitewater, self rescue, subject and equipment  contact rescues and scenarios.

What are the Requirements?
Participants must be able to paddle grade II+ whitewater in a kayak, Canoe, SUP, packraft, raft, body board, rescue boat. Must be good swimmers and comfortable in a river environmentBasic knowledge of hydrology and hazard recognitionThere is NO requirement for previous Swift water training
This course takes place on a weekend from  Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday
The Friday PM- focus on introductions, whitewater review and course expectations.
Saturday AM- practical skills training and clinics
Saturday PM- practical skills training and clinics, practice scenario(s)
Sunday AM- review of practical skills and more practice scenariosSunday PM- student led practice scenarios and exam.

Personal Protective Equipment including a drysuit is required for this course as water temperature is below safe operating level for rescue swimming and practice scenarios.

This course is recognized by the International Rescue Instructors Association and a course certificate is issued after successful completion of course objectives.

Gear rental is available on first come first serve basis.
